The Faroe Islands are now full members of NordForsk. NordForsk is an organisation under the Nordic Council of Ministers that provides funding and facilitates Nordic cooperation on research and research infrastructure.
The Faroe Islands have had observer status in the NordForsk Board since 2005.From January 1st, 2023, the Faroe Islands have full membership in the Nordforsk Board.
It has been a long standing political wish in the Faroe Islands to obtain full membership in the Board.
Annika Sølvará, Head of Research Council Faroe Islands, has represented the Faroe Islands in the NordForsk Board. She will now be a full member of the board.
The next step for the Faroe Islands will be to participate with cofunding in NordForsk Open Initiatives.
