The COST Association has voted in favor of the Faroe Islands to join COST as Near Neighbour Country. Joining COST makes Faroese researchers eligible to participate in COST activities.
COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) is a funding organisation for research and innovation networks. COST Actions help connect research initiatives across Europe and beyond and enable researchers and innovators to grow their ideas in any science and technology field by sharing them with their peers..
A successful COST Awareness event was held in Tórshavn last year. At the same time a preparatory meeting was held at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Culture paving the way for a closer cooperation between COST and the Faroe Islands.
